DD Summer Soundtrack

Summer's a time for sun, music and a fun break from the daily grind. So when Dunkin' Donuts asked us to help them celebrate iced coffee during the summer, we created the ultimate coffee break.

The Content Hub

A dynamic website served as the central point for users to learn more about the musicians, see where the next concert was going to be, access exclusive photos and videos and even see the latest conversations about the Summer Soundtrack from around the web.

Using footage from the concerts, we created promotional videos, music videos from select performances, and even captured unique interviews with each of the bands.

Interactive Barricade

Part of taking a break is getting on your feet and moving around. But our coffee breaks went beyond getting out of your seat to stretch your legs. We wanted you to bust a move, preferably to your own beat. One you created on our beatboxing barricade.

To bring this idea to life we worked with the team at DeepLocal creating this custom component for the experience.

The beatboxing barricade allowed people to create their own rhythm in real-time with unique iced coffee-based sounds that mirror the musical tracks created by our online featured artist, Christylez Bacon, who used Dunkin' items like cups and straws to create songs.

Christylez Content

Christylez Bacon is an incredibly talented musician who can turn anything into an instrument. So we invited him to a local Dunkin’ where he made a bunch of music using only things you’d find in the coffee shop. This kicked off a movement where people created & shared their own tracks.

Throughout the summer he would continue to raise the bar with increasingly inventive ways to keep the vibe running on Dunkin’.

Musical Touch Poster

A paper thin poster version of the barricade. The design of the posters played up the origin of the sounds. Cups, lids and straws reimagined as drums and knobs. These posters added to the interactive fun.

Coffee And Donut Themed Instruments

To encourage people to make music with Dunkin', we created a whole orchestra of coffee and donut themed instruments.

A donut box piano, coffee cup guitar, coffee lid tambourines and even a coffee box kalimba.

We had people shaking it to a Dunkin' beat. Especially when they were shaking our coffee bean maracas.

Amped Social

All this was fueled and amplified across social through influeners, brand channels, and community content. We connected all of the experiential activations to hyper-shareable content and created a summer soundtrack that echoed throughout winter.
